help for a newbie

I recently purchased store manager for x-cart. i want it to be able to use it to view sales reports. The documentation is too complicated for me because I"m not too technical. I created an embedded server, but sample data shows. I also included my ftp info to my site which was tested successful. What do i do next to be able to view sales data reports
