Hi,
I'm testing Magento Store Manager if it's capable of importing products and categories into Magento. As I'm planning of porting my existing eShop to Magento, I'd like to use the Store Manager to automate this process as much as possible. While testing it, it appears I've found an issue: the import procedure does not import translations. I've tried to input the translations into the Store Manager, then export the categories, remove the existing categories, import them again, but still the translations are skipped. I have 4 store views (English, Dutch, French and German). I select them all when importing. Can you please help me if I'm doing something wrong? Thanks! I've found out that importing the translations of various views has to be done individually, language per language.
However, as I exported my file from Store Manager, and then am trying to reconstruct the categories by importing them language per language, I notice that the import is not able to distinguish between the various categories. For example, I have the following categories: 1: health 2: - vitamines 3: - 50+ 4: baby When I import, the ID's (1 - 4) are changed to other ID's. Therefore, if I try to import a second round (the first translation), the software does not find the correct ID's, and either does not import the translation, or puts it in the wrong category. I tried to use the paths, but that didn't seem to work either... How can I solve this issue? |
